Kharkiv Professional College of Food Industry
(I would like to tell you about my place of study.)
I study at the Kharkiv Professional College of Food Industry .
Our College is not far from the town center. The College is rather old: it was 90 in 2020. The College prepares junior specialists for Food Industry. There are some Technological departments,Mechanical and Refrigeratingdepartmernts.
The lessons at our college start at 8:30 a.m. and are over at 3:30p.m. Usually students have 3-4 lessons a day. We have lectures, seminars, laboratory works and practice in specialized Subjects.
Our college occupies three buildings. We have a gym, a concert hall,a cloakroom, and a student’s canteen. During the longest break students have lunch (at about 12 o’clock).
Not far from the college there is a students’ hostel. Students not living in Kharkiv can live in it. There are some laboratories with modern equipment and a mini milk plant for students’ practice. On the ground floor there is a gym and some workshops.
There is also a library with a reading hall where students often do their homework in the building of students’ hostel. It contains a lot of textbooks and fictions. It is open during the day.
So, we can say that our college is rather large, comfortable and well equipped. Students study at our college during 3-4 years at a full-time and correspondence departments. An academic year consists of two terms. Every term students must take their exams. Students with good marks get stipends.
As for our students’ life in the college we can say that there is a lot of non-academic activities and social activities such as: concerts, sport competitions, parties, discussions, clubs.
